Welcome to Winter Rec Basketball! This program is open to students in grades K–6 and is designed for those who want to learn, play, and enjoy the game of basketball in a fun, supportive environment. Players seeking advanced, competitive training are encouraged to explore outside programs.
Ridgefield Youth Basketball, offered through RSD Community Education, emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and FUN! This is a volunteer-driven league that relies on parent coaches and volunteer officials. Teams practice 1–2 times per week depending on grade level.
Team Placement Policy
- We are unable to accept friend, coach, or practice time requests.
- Volunteer coaches may submit the names of a limited number of players, but these requests are not guaranteed.
- All rosters are created by Community Education staff, who may make adjustments as needed.
- Players will be placed on teams based on available space.

- Recreational, non-competitive focus

- 1–2 practices per week (based on grade)
- League games only (2026 Update: No End of Season Tournament)
- Game locations: Ridgefield, Battle Ground, Hockinson, La Center, Woodland and Kalama - players will travel for games

📅 Important Dates
- Registration Opens: October 1
- Registration Closes: November 3 at 11:59 PM; exception only allowed if space in a division
- Practices Begin: Week of December 1
- Game Schedule Released: December 19 (subject to change)
- No Practices: Winter Break, January 19, February 16, (View Full No Use Dates Here Per Gym)
- Week #1 Games: January 10
- Final Week: February 21
💲 Refund Policy
Refunds follow District Procedure (3520P). Key details:
- Notification of withdrawal must be received at least 5 business days before the first practice
- Refunds are issued by check (no credits available).
- Refunds are first applied to any outstanding fines, fees, or balances.
- Please allow 2–3 weeks for processing.
- 7+ Days Before Deadline (11/4): Refund minus $15 fee
- 1–6 Days Before Deadline (11/4): Refund minus $25 processing fee + $20 purchased jersey
- Nov 5–30: Refund minus $40 fee (Refund minus $15 processing fee + $25 purchased jersey)
- Dec 1 – End of Season: No refunds issued
