2025–2026 Season Improvements

Ridgefield Teams: The league will play 7 weeks of games. Ridgefield teams will not participate in an end-of-season tournament this year.

  • Reason for No Tournament: This change aligns with the core purpose of our recreational league: focusing on skill development, teamwork, and a positive experience for all players rather than high-stakes competition.
  • Recreational basketball emphasizes learning the game, improving fundamentals, and having fun in a supportive environment. Ending the season with scheduled league play helps maintain balance, inclusivity, and the spirit of community recreation.

Weather Make-Up Day: In the event of weather-related cancellations, February 28 will serve as a make-up date for Ridgefield teams only. If no games are canceled, the season will end on February 21.

Team Skill Assessment: Coaches will receive a Google Form to evaluate their team’s skill level. This information helps create more evenly matched games.

Game Scheduling: Only the first four weeks of games will be scheduled initially. Weeks 5–7 will be released after week 3 to allow for better matchups based on team performance.

K/1 Coaches: For K/1 games, coaches will help officiate on the court to keep play consistent and create teaching moments.

  • One coach from each team will be on the court, with a possible high school student or monitor assisting with the clock (depending on the school).
  • Teams should assign a parent or assistant coach to help manage the bench while coaches are on the floor.
